Georg Simon Ohm

In 1826 Ohm found the direct proportionality between the potential difference (V) applied across a conductor (R) and the resultant electric current (I), now known as Ohm's law. Based on his experiments, Ohm was able to define the fundamental relationship among voltage, current, and resistance, which represents the true beginning of electrical circuit analysis.
